There's a passion for great food on Spon Street in Coventry

At the Blue Bistro restaurant we offer a fabulous a la carte menu featuring modern British cuisine with a Mediterranean twist. This Coventry restaurant's ethos is simple: a creative menu based upon great, preferably local, seasonal ingredients, ethically sourced and cooked with passion.

The dining area at Blue covers two floors of a beautiful medieval building dating back to 1450, the exposed beams of which are complemented by striking wooden furniture to create an elegant ambiance and a unique dining experience. The building was formerly a pub called the Green Dragon - reputedly the model for the inn featured in George Eliot's Middlemarch.

Upstairs at Blue provides a fabulous setting for functions, from weddings to business meetings and seminars. It also offers some of the most perfect tables for two in what has been voted one of the top-ten most romantic restaurants in the UK and Ireland.

Local is important to us. Our name and logo reflect our pride as a restaurant in Coventry. We buy our meat from Earlsdon Butchers, for example, because they meet our high standards for animal welfare and traceability - as well as being great butchers. Even the venison sausages used in our lunchtime baguettes come from a herd at Charlecote Park that dates back to Tudor times.

The restaurant is situated on the historic Spon Street, in Coventry City Centre, an easy walk from the Belgrade Theatre, the Skydome and its Odeon cinema, Ikea and, of course, Coventry Cathedral.

We have good disabled facilities, but if you have mobility issues please let us know to ensure that your table is not upstairs!

Unlike many restaurants, we are happy to welcome children.

Blue Bistro has been featured in The Times as the place to eat in Coventry, in an article on Great British Weekends!

Coventry Wine Group: Tuesday 18th June, 7:30pm
The theme for this Wine Club is Rioja! There'll be three white and three red and Ian will introduce us to the pleasures of this fabulous region. The tasting will be accompanied by some small tapas.
Wine Club will be £10 this month.
